HEAD OF RELIGION, PHILOSOPHY AND ETHICS

Full time, permanent, TLR 2b, from September 2023

.

We are a five form, mixed, selective school in rural but also coastal Kent. The School is proud of its reputation for being inclusive, friendly and welcoming and one that focuses as much on the development of the whole person as much as it does on academic progress.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to lead our very experienced and dynamic Religion, Philosophy and Ethics Department. GCSE and A level results are very good and Religious Studies is a popular choice for A Level. The person appointed will teach mostly core RE and Religious Studies at GCSE and A Level, but the willingness to teach some A Level Sociology and/or A Level Psychology as well would be of interest to the school.

The School is a friendly, dynamic place to work, where both staff and students thrive because they are highly valued. Our students are bright, able and eager to learn, and due to our environment of excellent behaviour, teachers are able to teach their subjects to a high level.  The School is situated in a beautiful area of Kent, close to both coast and rolling countryside. It is also close to the channel crossings at Dover and Ashford and has very good connections to London via the High Speed rail route to Kings Cross and the A2/M2 by car. Local house prices and rents are considerably lower than those in London and the Home Counties.
