Lead Teaching Assistant – Reading Specialist
Salary Range: Kent Range 6
30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant with an expertise in developing students' reading skills. You will be confident with the complexities of the English Language and have good knowledge of phonics. You will have experience supporting students with decoding and comprehension issues and have a range of evidence-based strategies to tackle this.
You will have a relentless attitude towards excellence and have high expectations of what a child can achieve with the correct support. Working closely alongside the Literacy Lead, you will deliver high-quality 1-1 and group reading lessons to the students that are in greatest need a minimum of three times a week.
Alongside these reading interventions, you will also be assigned to support the class teacher in the teaching and welfare of students to enable them to make progress towards their individual targets

Located on the southern fringes of the historic city of Canterbury, St Anselm's is a happy and successful wide ability school, catering for those who wish to receive a Catholic education. The school has a large catchment area extending from Ashford to Herne Bay and from Wingham to Faversham. It is regularly over-subscribed. The Sixth Form, numbering 150 students, offers a wide range of Advanced level and vocational courses.
