Are you an inspiring Teacher of Psychology/PE who is keen to start an exciting new role from September 2023?

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and engaging Teacher of Psychology/PE who has experience in both subject areas to join us at Ebbsfleet Academy. The successful candidate will bring with them a passion for both subjects with an overarching ability to engage our students. Psychology offers a variety of cross-curricular links, such as PE, and we encourage our successful candidate to exploit these in their teaching.

We are looking for someone to join a strong team who supports each other to enable the students to achieve success. Both Psychology and PE receive a high uptake at Ebbsfleet Academy, therefore, if you are a dynamic, creative teacher with experience teaching Psychology across Key Stage 5 and PE across KS3/4, we’d love to hear from you!

Applications from Early Career Teachers (ETCs) are welcome as are applications from more experienced teachers; we can offer a fantastic range of professional development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust. Ebbsfleet Academy is an IB World School. Training can be delivered, where necessary, to upskill our successful candidate in the delivery of the MYP and IB programmes.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering MPS/UPS commensurate with experience + London Fringe Allowance + the possibility of a TLR for the right candidate who can lead on teaching KS5 Psychology.

Information about the school

Welcome to Ebbsfleet Academy, where we are committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure all our students receive an outstanding education and achieve exceptional things. We are an extremely ambitious school community and believe there are no excuses for not achieving your absolute potential.

Ebbsfleet Academy opened in September 2013; we are on a journey to become an over-subscribed school that children walk to, with their friends, where they enjoy coming and a school of which they feel proud. We are building an ethos that creates a belief that we can all achieve our goals and better our futures. We are developing independent, resilient and respectful individuals, who are ready to learn for themselves. We want all our students to achieve the highest qualifications they can, but also to fulfil all their potential, academic and personal, sporting, creative and artistic. We want our pupils to leave school as well-rounded, confident young people, with an awareness of the wider world, and a desire and ambition to play an active part in it, all of which is encapsulated in Ebbsfleet Academy’s motto - Aspire and Excel!

We are a dynamic and successful 11-18 academy serving the local community. We have students of all abilities and from a wide variety of backgrounds, all of whom contribute to the richness of our school population. Our curriculum is based around the needs of our students and consists of a rich blend of academic and vocational qualifications, all supported by fantastic learning resources. We are extremely proud of our record to date, of our constantly improving results and of our 'Good' Ofsted outcome (October 2019). We have a clear commitment to the highest of expectations and achievement for all, with an excellent team of committed staff and outstanding facilities.

Values and vision - To be an outstanding community academy, whose focus is on learning, as well as on personal and social development, and to be ambitious for all regardless of circumstance. At Ebbsfleet Academy our aim is to get the best out of every student; excellence in teaching and learning is therefore at the heart of our work. - Our ambition is to ensure that all of our students achieve their potential, develop as courteous, confident and capable young people and leave with an education that has fully equipped them to go on to university or the career of their choice.

Our vision is based on three core values: - ‘Be Ready, Work Hard, Be Nice’. In working towards instilling these values in our students, we strive to provide a safe, healthy and stimulating environment for all.

Following our recent Ofsted news, where we were praised for being on track for an Outstanding rating, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school that is moving forward at an exceptional pace!

'We are an extremely ambitious school community and believe there are no excuses for not achieving your absolute potential.' Gurjit Kaur Shergill, Principal
