Frittenden C of E Primary School is seeking an amazing, enthusiastic, motivated, flexible and friendly Family Liaison Officer, to join our professional, dedicated and friendly team within our village school setting. Whilst experience is preferential, it not a prerequisite: you just have to have a can-do attitude. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Family Liaison and support:

  • Establish and foster good relationships with parents/carers and children at the school and encourage good home/school
  • Be able to effectively communicate with parents and carers: hosting meetings and at times home
  • Liaise with teachers and other key personnel regarding their child’s attendance and social, emotional and mental health.
  • Liaise with the SENCo regarding perceived barriers to attendance.
  • To work with parents/carers to identify why children are not achieving good attendance and assist in the implementation of measure to address this e.g. challenge and support for families to reduce persistent absenteeism, holding regular meetings with identified families and making referrals where
  • To signpost families to sources of advice and guidance within the local community and via other agencies, including food bank vouchers if required.

This is initially a temporary contract until the end of the academic year, with the strong possibility of extending to permanent. Days and hours to be negotiated - this post is expected to be the equivalent of three days.

Frittenden Church of England Primary School is a popular small school in the heart of the village. Whilst we benefit from an idyllic location in the heart of the countryside, we are easily accessible from Maidstone, Ashford and Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding villages. We currently have 101 children on roll divided into 4 classes, with an intake of 15 into the Reception class and mixed classes thereafter.

As a church school we enjoy a close relationship with St Mary's Church. We promote our Christian values of Compassion, Joy and Respect throughout our school.
