Advert

The Howard Academy Trust are delighted to announce a new role within the Central Operations Finance Team. This role has arisen due to Trust growth, with an additional secondary school joining the Trust in April 2023 and further growth expected. The Howard Academy Trust is a very successful Trust with all academies being rated Good by Ofsted. All academies have maintained or improved their Ofsted rating since joining The Howard Academy Trust with two academies moving from Inadequate (on joining the Trust) to Good when first inspected.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take their next step and an exceptional opportunity for someone looking for further development. The successful candidate will join a highly successful and forward-thinking finance team. Since 2019, with new financial leadership the Trust has improved its financial position considerably, which can be seen in our statutory accounts. The successful candidate will join a thriving organisation that has a strong financial position, which it will continue to improve upon. The successful candidate will be a hardworking self-starter, who has a sound understanding of all aspects of finance, they will be hard working, organised and share the CFO’s vision to have a “gold standard” finance team, which supports our schools exceptionally well. Due to our current size the successful candidate needs to be happy to take a “hands on” approach and be adaptable with the role having room to grow as the Trust continues to grow over the coming years.

For part qualified CCAB candidates the Trust will fund completion of the qualification after successful probationary period.

All posts in the THAT central team offer Hybrid working, whereby employees can work from home two days per week (Wednesday and Friday).

Information about the federation

The Howard Academy Trust started in Autumn 2015 and continues to grow.

We currently comprise of 3 secondary and 4 primary academies in Medway and Kent. We have future growth plans as a Multi Academy Trust with major projects taking place across the organisation. Our overarching aim and vision for our schools is “working together to create a community of successful learners”. In doing this, we will deliver an outstanding education for the children and young people who attend our academies. We endeavour to ensure that all our pupils have access to the highest standards of teaching, resources and opportunities.

The Trust’s role is to oversee the leadership and vision of member schools and to develop effective and supportive partnerships between them. We have a firm belief within the Trust that every child should have access to at least a good education. We are proud that every academy inspected since joining our Trust has remained as a Good school or improved their Ofsted Rating. Both Temple Mill Primary School and Waterfront UTC joined the Trust as sponsored academies and have moved from Special Measures to a Good school on their first inspection. Our schools serve their own community, and each has a unique identity. Being part of this Multi Academy Trust has already provided member schools with practical benefits. We want communities to be proud of their local THAT school and we are determined to make it the first choice for all families.
