St Alphege CE Infant School and Sunbeams nursery are looking to appoint a new caretaker. We would like someone who is active, versatile, well organised, enthusiastic, reliable and has excellent communication skills. Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure. General plumbing, electrical, carpentry skills and a clean driving licence are essential.

The position is a permanent contract for 20 hours per week, working Monday - Friday 1.30pm – 17.30pm, 52 weeks per year. 

We require self-motivated candidates who will work as part of a team to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, parents and staff.

You will be a key holder and will be required to open and lock the school site at the start and end of each day. The work will involve all aspects of caretaking, facilities management and some cleaning. The position is physical in nature and includes working outside. You should therefore, be comfortable lifting furniture and equipment to statutory limits although the necessary manual handling training will be provided. Part of the role will be to drive the minibus to local venues and full training will be provided.

In addition to the hours stated, you might be required to work some evenings / weekends as agreed, for which overtime payment will be made.

Salary: KR3 - 4, £19,293 - £20,493 FTE depending on previous experience. You will also be entitled to 26 days annual leave to be taken during school holidays.
