Egerton Church of England Primary school are looking to appoint a cleaner to help keep our school clean, tidy and safe. We are looking for a capable, reliable and trustworthy person to join our friendly team.

This is a part time position of 5 hours a week, term time. Ideally we would like the successful candidate to work 2.5 hours, 2 days a week (3.15pm - 5.45pm,Thursday and Friday). However we are open to negotiation for the correct person.  Extra hours will be required in the school holidays for a deep clean which is to be discussed at interview stage, as we are able to be flexible.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a good team player, who is prepared to use their initiative.
  • Have a flexible approach with a hardworking attitude.
  • Have a good level of cleaning abilities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive cleaning duties in allocated areas as directed, to ensure high standards are maintained throughout.
  • Operate/use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training.
  • Store allocated equipment and materials safely and securely.
  • Maintain clean toilets to ensure hygiene standards are met.
  • Collect and dispose of waste, refill and replace soap, towels etc when required.
  • Undertake, during school holidays ‘deep’ cleaning of all areas not exclusive of, but to include window cleaning, moving furniture to clean, skirting boards etc to ensure all areas are clean and fresh.

 You will have:

  • A calm, adaptable approach and a good sense of humour.
  • A willingness to undertake relevant training.
  • An understanding of Data Protection, Safeguarding and confidentiality issues.

Set in the Kent countryside, between Ashford and Lenham, Egerton Church of England Primary School is a one form entry primary school with 180 children on roll. Naturally the children are our greatest asset and the school plays a central part in the village community.
