Are you a fun, creative and energetic person?  Do you enjoy working with children?

Due to the popularity of our after school club provision, we are looking to appoint an efficient, reliable person who has good interpersonal skills to join the existing small team, who provide after school care for our children, aged 4 – 11.  The successful applicant will be required to work 12.5 hours per week, term time only. Hours of work are Monday – Friday, 3pm – 5.30pm.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a good team player, who is prepared to use their initiative.
  • Be fun, energetic and enjoy engaging with children.
  • Have a calm, adaptable approach and a good sense of humour.
  • Be a caring and nurturing individual.
  • Have an understanding of Data Protection, Safeguarding and confidentiality issues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help to prepare the room and activities before the session.
  • Ensure all children are signed in.
  • Support children with any needs they may have, and ensure they have a happy and settled end to their day.
  • Ensure the environment is safe and stimulating for play activities.
  • Help prepare and supervise tea time refreshments.
  • Encourage cooperation, ensure good behaviour and monitor well-being.
  • Follow guidelines and procedures for safeguarding in accordance with school policy.
  • Help to tidy and clean the area at the end of the session.

Set in the Kent countryside, between Ashford and Lenham, Egerton Church of England Primary School is a one form entry primary school with 180 children on roll. Naturally the children are our greatest asset and the school plays a central part in the village community.
