A vacancy is available for an experienced and dynamic Childcare Manager to manage a small but busy Day Nursery.  The successful candidate will work with the Managing Director to manage the Setting ensuring the smooth running of the Setting.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about children’s learning and able to enhance their learning through play.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily running of the Setting; supporting Staff; new admissions, ‘settling in’ process and cater for the needs of children from diverse backgrounds and culture including children with Special Educational Needs.  the successful candidate should be hardworking, passionate about working with children, inspire, motivate and lead a team of Childcare Practitioners.   The successful candidate should have experience working with children under 2 years old as there is the possibility of extending the Setting hours to all year round and opening to under 2 year old.  The Manager will be instrumental in setting up the extended hours.

 

In your role you will be required to:

  • Provide children with skills to function as a member of society enabling them to develop positive, co-operative and supportive relationships with peers and adults
  • Work autonomously to oversee the day-to-day organisation of the Nursery and progress of the Nursery
  • Ensure a high quality of education and childcare by following Ofsted requirements as set out in the Statutory Framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Have detailed knowledge of legislation
  • Have experience of mentoring and supporting staff teams in the delivery of high-quality provision
  • Be self-motivated
  • Have excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Training and support staff

 

Requirements

  • Full and relevant Childcare Qualification (NNEB/CACHE, BTEC or NVQ) Level 3 or above
  • Experience working within a Childcare Setting and with babies and toddlers
  • Experience of working in a management role, mentoring and leading Staff
  • Excellent knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted statutory guidance
  • Excellent knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
  • Ability to deliver a high standard of childcare
  • Excellent planning, organising and time management skills
  • A good understanding of how a Nursery works
