Come and join our fantastic team!

We are excited to be able to offer an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated class teacher.

St Augustine’s is Hythe's best-kept secret, where the children are at the heart of all that we do. We pride ourselves on our warm welcome, friendly atmosphere and deeply embedded Catholic values. We believe that potential is limitless, and are passionate about helping the children to discover and explore their own gifts and talents. We have a strong academic record, with ambitious pupils who have high expectations of themselves and strive to excel. We are dedicated to going the extra mile, so that no-one slips through the net and everyone can flourish. Applicants need not be of the Catholic faith, but must be supportive of the ethos of the school, promoting the school's mission.

We encourage the children to try to be the best version of themselves every day. St Augustine’s pupils are beautifully behaved, kind, fun-loving – and most importantly, they are happy.

Our school environment is simply stunning. Set in the grounds of Brockhill Country Park, we are inspired every day by our spectacular views of the English Channel. Our award-winning, spacious facilities are fabulous, from our mezzanine library, chapel, outdoor classroom, and allotments to the large decked balconies and teacher ‘work-pods’ that are features of every classroom.

You really have to visit to appreciate our spectacular school - do come and see us in action, and feel the incredible warmth of our school family.

We are looking for someone who:

· Is a strong practitioner who can inspire and bring out the best in our children.

· Is well-organised with high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.

· Is keen to take an active part in the wider contribution and life of the school.

We will consider applications from newly qualified and experienced teachers.

In return, we can offer:

· Keen and enthusiastic pupils who are eager to learn and display consistently good behaviour.

· Hard-working and supportive staff who are committed to the flourishing of our pupils and are proud to belong to our St Augustine’s family.

· Professional development opportunities.

· Opportunities for career development within Kent Catholic Schools’ Partnership (KCSP).

· Support from our active Governance Committee and KCSP.

Information about the school

We are a popular, single form entry Catholic primary school. In September 2018 we had a very successful Ofsted inspection in which we were judged ‘good’ in all categories. We joined the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership Trust in September 2022.

Year after year our academic results significantly exceed national averages, not only for high achievers but also for pupils with additional needs and those who receive pupil premium.

Built in 2005, and receiving the Royal Institute of British Architecture award, we are fortunate to have truly exceptional facilities set in the beautiful grounds of Brockhill Country Park in Hythe, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The classrooms are spacious, clean, modern and enjoy sea views. Coupled with this we are a stone’s throw from the beautiful and historic High Street in Hythe, The Royal Military Canal, The English Channel, The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch miniature railway and the North Downs area of outstanding natural beauty. We are very fortunate to have close links to the secondary school next door which has a Farm, and adjacent is a Forest School which we have close links to.
