We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to join our Senor Leadership Team in our 4-form entry primary school in Gravesend. The ideal candidate will be a creative and innovative leader and will possess a keen drive to make a real difference to our pupils with SEND and the safeguarding of our children.

The post holder will support the Co-Headteachers and Senior Assistant Headteacher in:

  • The day-to-day management of Safeguarding and Inclusion across the school
  • Formulating the aims and objectives of the school
  • Establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives
  • Managing staff and resources to that end
  • Monitoring progress towards the achievement of the school’s aims and objectives

Information about the school

St John’s is a four-form entry primary academy located in Gravesend, serving the Parish of St John the Evangelist and the local area. It is part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership (KCSP), a multi-academy trust established by the Archdiocese of Southwark for Catholic education across Kent which currently comprises of 26 academies (21 primary and 5 secondary).

St John’s is an inclusive academy. Its dedicated staff, helpers and governance committee members work hard to ensure that every student is supported and challenged to be their very best. Each individual is encouraged to grow spiritually and intellectually, so that unique and positive contributions can be made to society and the world. Our most recent denominational inspection in November 2022 and Ofsted inspection in November 2023 judged the academy to be ‘Good’.
