Science is central to the school’s commitment to ensuring high quality learning across the curriculum.  We have excellent Science facilities including eight specialist fully equipped labs, a large break out space and a dedicated computer area. Science is taught right through to year 13 with a significant take up in our outstanding 6th form.

From September 2019 we have been delivering Science as discrete Physics, Chemistry and Biology lessons from year 7 upwards, with subject specific teams lead by experienced staff, all under the guidance of a Head of Science Faculty. Applications are encouraged from teachers who are passionate about science and want to be part of a large, highly supportive and collaborative department.  We welcome applications from ECTs or from more experienced teachers who are looking to further develop their career. We welcome applications from experienced teachers looking for roles with enhanced responsibility, to be discussed at interview. Opportunity for accelerated pay progression and potential leadership roles in the future. Herne Bay High School is a large hugely successful Single Academy Trust that serves the Herne Bay coastal area of North Kent. We have a comprehensive intake and are significantly oversubscribed in all year groups and in June 2022 Ofsted rated the school good with an Outstanding 6th form provision.
