After-school Club Assistant/Playwork Practitioner

Hours: Tuesday to Thursday 3pm to 6pm (Term-time only)

Pay: £10.50 0 £13.50 per hour

Based at: Speldhurst Primary School in Tunbridge Wells

Polkadots, Speldhurst School's after-school provision, is looking to appoint an energetic after-school cub assistant with the ability to support and entertain our wonderful pupils. Polkadots Out of School Care has been established for over 10 years. The company stives to provide a warm and welcoming environment for the children and their families.

The role:

The Playwork Practitioner is required to be part of an after-school club. It’s a super fun and interactive role that involves looking after children aged between 4-11 years old. The role involves preparing arts and crafts session and also planning fun games for everyone to be able to participate in!

What are we looking for?

Someone who ideally has NVQ level 2 or 3 or the equivalent.

  • If you have some experience in childcare then this is a bonus but definitely not essential.
  • Someone with strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and health and safety procedures.
  • We would love you to be motivated and to enjoy working as part of a team with great organisational skills
  • Someone who loves working with children and is great at creating a fun environment for them!
  • Ideally you will have knowledge of the EYFS and the key worker system.

Speldhurst Church of England Aided Primary School is in a village 3 miles from Tunbridge Wells in Kent and is at the heart of a thriving village community. We are a small, caring school with just 213 pupils so it is possible to know every child.
