If this sounds like you then look no further! We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative Learning Support Assistant to join our small and friendly Federation.

In this pivotal role, you will work on a one to one basis to aid the specific needs of one of our pupils.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in the teaching and welfare of the child to ensure they attain the targets set under their individual educational programmes.
  • Be aware of and support differences to ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Assist teachers with learning activities ensuring health and safety and good behaviour of pupils.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A good standard of general education to level 2 (i.e. NVQ level 2 or the equivalent) together with GCSE level (Grade A-C pass), or equivalent.
  • The ability to relate well to children, understanding their needs and being able to respond according with good influencing skills.

This is a contract for 27.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.50am to 3.20pm, for 38 weeks per year (term time only).

Salary will be Kent Range 3 £19,293 (pro rata)

Information about the school

Chislet Church of England Primary School and Hoath Primary School are small rural schools situated in a picturesque setting, seven miles from Canterbury and four miles from the coastal town of Herne Bay.

The schools currently have four classes which at present accommodate 105 pupils.

We are a friendly supportive school dedicated to providing a high standard of education for all pupils and fortunate to have caring and supporting parents and Governors as highlighted in our recent Ofsted report (November 2022). Chislet school was originally built in 1864 and has great resources and a magnificent team of staff who deploy a high standard of education to all pupils.

We have the use of two Federation minibuses and encourage teachers to arrange class visits in order to widen the children's learning experiences. All the children have the opportunity to attend Forest School each year and in some cases Beach School.
