TEACHING ASSISTANT/LSA ON A FIXED TERM CONTRACT.

This post is to provide additional support to individual children and small groups. The successful candidate needs to have experience of supporting children with complex SEND and must demonstrate a strong commitment to helping children to reach their potential whilst promoting well-being.The candidate will work together with the Inclusion Leader and class teachers to deliver a range of support programmes, monitoring and tracking the progress that children make. The successful candidate for this post will:

  

  • Have experience working with children with SEND inc. Autism 
  • Have high expectations of themselves and the children
  • Have secure literacy and numeracy skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable and have the ability to use their initiative
  • Be committed to supporting and nurturing children, adopting an inclusive approach that enables them to reach their full potential
  • Be able to foster positive, supportive relationships with children, parents, staff and the wider community
  • Show empathy and understanding for the wide range of our children’s needs
  • Be patient and intuitive
  • Be willing to support the school’s Christian ethos

Sutton-at-Hone is a Church of England Primary School and is part of the Aletheia Academy Trust. Our school vision is: We are God's family - learning together, loving together, growing together - striving to be the best we can be, for ourselves, for God and for others.

The school was built in the 1970s and is situated on the southern outskirts of Dartford. It occupies a very pleasant site near the Ancient Church in the Village just off the A225.

We are a two-form entry school with 14 classrooms an ICT suite, breakfast and after school club and a swimming pool. We have a forest school and plenty of outdoor space.
