We are looking to appoint a temporary Teaching Assistant to join our wonderful team.   The position is to start from 18th April 2023, initially until 31st August 2024.

 The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have relevant qualifications or experience (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Good standard of English and Maths, written and spoken (GCSE or equivalent)
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of the EYFS and Key Stage 1 Curriculum.
  • Be able to differentiate when supporting learning.
  • Be a good team player.
  • Be highly organised in record keeping, thoroughly maintaining and updating records.
  • Be flexible and prepared to use their initiative.
  • Be committed to their own professional development.
  • Be someone who enjoys working with young children and is fun to work with!

Be imaginative, creative, very energetic and prepared to work outside, whatever the weather!

Hours: 29 hours per week, 8:30am - 3:15pm (with an hour unpaid lunch).

38 weeks per year

Starting Salary: £19,293 (pro-rata to hours and weeks worked)


Information about the school

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 300 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.
