Leigh Academy Rainham is a new co-educational comprehensive secondary school that opened its doors for the first time to year 7 in 2021 and already highly oversubscribed, our new school is firmly set to be a beacon of excellence for secondary education in Medway. We now have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Teacher of IT/Computer Science, starting in September 2023.

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of IT/Computer Science who can deliver high quality learning opportunities for our students across this curriculum area. Currently IT Design is taught by our 2 Technology teachers who work collaboratively to implement a digital ‘Design’ IB curriculum with carefully planned interdisciplinary links with all other aspects of Technology. It is interwoven with the Technology curriculum currently, for example teaching CAD and Online safety alongside Textiles, Food and D&T. As we grow we wish to grow the IT curriculum further to ensure we are embedding all the necessary skills and knowledge from KS3 to prepare for KS4 opportunities in IT, while keeping this strong Design link with Technology. The IT department is part of Turing College (STEM subjects) and works closely with all other departments, particularly Maths and the Arts to ensure they deliver a highly ambitious, global curriculum with cross-curricular links. It truly is a special place to work, but don't just take our word for it...click here to find out more from some of our current staff members!

Applications are welcomed from both experienced and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

What we are offering:
