New Line Learning are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and effective Senior Lab Technician with a passion for Science. You will need to share this passion with students to excite and inspire their learning journey.  This role is for 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday for 38 weeks.

As the Senior Technician you will join a hard-working Science Department.

The appointed candidate will be responsible for ensuring that teaching staff in the department have the necessary equipment, resources, and apparatus to teach the practical aspects of their subjects inside laboratories of the school.

As a Senior Science Technician, you will be expected to:

  • Prepare materials, resources, and equipment as requested by the teachers, and anticipate future needs by being aware of the schemes of work taught in the department
  • Assist with practical work in the classroom as needed
  • Maintain, repair and coordinate the use of practical resources and facilities
  • Provide technical advice to students, technicians and teachers
  • Develop and enhance practical activities and demonstrations

In order to be considered for the Senior Science Technician role, the candidate must:

  • Have previous experience of working as a Science Technician
  • Be able to support the teaching staff & other technicians in the science department
  • Have strong communication skills, a good sense of humour and be able to work flexibly to suit the needs of the students and teachers
