Folkestone Academy is looking to recruit an innovative, dedicated Teacher of Art starting September 2023.

As a faculty we are committed to supporting our pupils in becoming confident in their own ability, with a sense of purpose and a vision for their futures. We want all of our pupils to be successful, creative thinkers, achieving the highest outcomes possible.

The Folkestone Academy community strongly believes that its purpose is to serve the young people of the local coastal community with a powerful education and engage them with the creative arts to improve cultural capital.

We need an inspirational Art Teacher who has enthusiasm and passion for art education and can translate that to the classroom.  As a Trust we are committed to investing in the creative arts, working closely with the local artistic community and providing a range of opportunities for our pupils in all Key Stages.

  • A passionate creative arts practitioner dedicated to making art accessible to young people
  • be dedicated to improving pupil progress and raising attainment
  • possess the drive and determination to assist pupils in breaking down barriers inside and outside of education
  • value our respectful environment, ensuring that pupils and colleagues alike respect and support each other to ensure a calm and purposeful site
  • believe that a knowledge and research-led curriculum is the necessary catalyst, with the ability and determination to be part of the Academy’s community to support ambitious, confident and successful pupils
  • be confident in developing and delivering innovative approaches to art teaching in the classroom and through virtual provision
  • This post would be suitable for an NQT who would like to develop in the role.
