We are looking to appoint a full-time Caretaker with effect from March 2023. The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside our friendly and professional Site Team, assisting the Site Manager in the cleaning, maintenance and caretaking activities to ensure the safety, security and sound condition of the buildings, hydrotherapy pool, vehicle facilities and grounds. Applications from candidates that are qualified to drive a mini bus would be an advantage.

The post holder will be expected to have experience in building maintenance and/or cleaning and skills in a number of disciplines. They will also need to be flexible and self-motivated, have good communication skills and a good understanding of the health and safety requirements of a large site. No two days are the same and this post offers the opportunity to work in a friendly, inclusive environment to make a positive contribution to our unique and outstanding school.

Previous experience of working in a school would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is a year round contract for 37 hours per week (full-time). Working hours will be finalised on appointment but are likely to be either 6.00am to 2.00pm or 10.00am to 6.00pm. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and also to switch shifts as required and there may also be a requirement to work evenings and weekends on an occasional basis. Overtime hours will be paid at the appropriate rate.

Please note that Ifield School is federated with our neighbouring primary school, King's Farm and there will be an occasional requirement to work across both sites when the need arises.
