Science Technician 

Orchards Academy's aim is to work with students, parents and the wider community to provide a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment where high expectations and levels of challenge enable our students to achieve academically, socially and emotionally so they can make a positive contribution to society. 

We are looking to appoint a flexible Science Technician, with relevant and previous experience to work within the Science Department. 

The role will include preparation and maintenance of resources with the successful candidate offering support to staff and students in this department. 

The successful candidate will use their previous Laboratory Technician experience, to be able to confidently:

  • Prepare, conduct and support scientific investigations and experiments.
  • Maintain, calibrate, clean and test sterility of a range of equipment.
  • Order and maintain stock and resources.

 The applicant would need to have good organisational and time management skills and have the ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the department and the students on a daily basis.

Hours: 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.30pm on Fridays term time only plus inset days (37 hours per week) 

Salary: Kent Range 6 (£21,801 FTE). Pro rata salary for Term time only role approx. £18,830pa.

Start Date: ASAP
