Newingate School is looking for dedicated and inspiring Teaching Assistants (Autism Specific) to join our dedicated and highly effective team. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a passion for working with children with SEND as well as being patient and resilient. The role will be challenging but also incredibly rewarding.


We expect commitment to the school and our students’ learning and wellbeing. Possessing the motivation to develop and constantly improve is necessary as we work together, as a team, to create a centre of excellence. We currently have vacancies for both Teaching Assistants and HLTAs on a Full/PartTime basis

Ongoing development and professional learning will be provided based upon your own development needs and the requirements of the school to ensure that students are being supported by skilled and knowledgeable professionals.

HLTAs will be required to lead on aspects of provision including specified interventions, enrichment activities and cover PPA or Teacher absences. 


The successful candidates will be educated to at least GCSE grade C/4 in English and Maths or equivalent and have appropriate experience of working with children in an educational setting.

Information about the school

Newingate School is a specialist independent school for children with Autism and associated Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs. All students have an EHCP and are referred to the school by their local authority. The school is registered for 11-18 year olds and provides a personalised curriculum to meet each individuals needs via small class and sometimes 1:1 learning support.
