Art & Design and Design Technology Technician

 

Salary: TSAT Pay Group 3 £22,818 - £26,997 (Pro rata £12,025 - £14,227 for hours and weeks stated)

Start date: January 2023

Contract: Permanent, part time 3 days per week (flexibility can be discussed).  Term-time only plus 5 INSET days. 

 

We require an Art & Design and Design Technology Technician to join Goodwin Academy to manage the day to day running of the department classrooms.    The successful candidate will ensure that Health and Safety standards are met throughout the Art & Design and Design Technology departments.  They will be expected to give support to pupils, individually or in groups, to enable them to access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.  They will also be a practitioner who will share their skills and knowledge of the creative industries to enrich staff pedagogy and student opportunities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, together with effective communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Effective ICT skills 
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to motivate and to support learning
  • Additional language skills would be beneficial to support our diverse student population.
  • Previous experience of working with young people is desirable and the ability to contribute to the wider life of the school will be an advantage.
