We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed SENCO to join our school family.  We are looking for someone with a high level of expertise, who is ready to move SEN provision forward.

Ideally you will hold the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (or be prepared to complete it within the next 3 years) and have relevant experience in inclusion.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a wide range of SEN experience as well as being an excellent class teacher. You will work alongside our SENCo, who currently works one day a week, to increase capacity.  You will lead and manage SEN and inclusion across the school, developing and implementing curriculum and education programmes structured towards our SEN children, ensuring there is a continual focus on the quality of the education provision.  You will also have the  responsibility of ensuring our EAL children's needs are being met as well as monitoring groups of children who are considered disadvantaged.

You will need experience in working with parents, specialists and other outside agencies. This will include experience in filling in SEN forms i.e Front door referrals and EHCP’s. You will need to be able to offer support to class teachers on provision and be able to carry out analysis of class data.

You will have a good understanding of the SEN Code of Practice as well as the Mainstream Core Standards.

Information about the school

We are a small, friendly, village primary school with 120 children taught in 6 classes. Our rural location just off the A28 between Ashford and Tenterden means we serve families from the village and the wider area. We have received a Good grading in our most recent Ofsted inspection (June 2023).

Our large site has extensive grounds, which includes a gardening area and large playing field.

We have a friendly, dedicated staff who work seamlessly together as a team, ensuring our children excel through a focus on quality first teaching and pastoral support.
