Are you an engaging Functional Skills Tutor? Can you motivate your learners to reach their full potential and lead learners to being outstanding?

Kite College is an Independent Specialist Post-16 College in Sittingbourne, providing specialist Vocational Technical education and training for young people with an education health care plan of small class size of 6-8 learners.

We are looking to develop our functional skills curriculum area further and are looking to appoint a new member of the team to start as soon as possible who can inspire and lead the college in its functional skills development. 

This fantastic opportunity will allow you to be a part of Kent’s only specialist college for young people with SEND, and to develop a new Functional Skills programme that provides learners with Functional Skills that to their industry chosen career.

  • Motivate and support learners with SEND, ASD and SEMH
  • inspire and lead learners to becoming outstanding
  • Produce high quality programmes of study including, planning, development, teaching and assessment, schemes of work and quality.
  • Conduct demonstrations and supervise work to reinforce learning
  • Act as an academic and pastoral tutor to learners
  • Train and engage learners on a range of topics and tasks relevant to the awarding body
