37 Hours per Week 08.30 – 16.30 - Term Time Only (38 weeks)

 

The Abbey School invites applications for the post of Teaching Assistant to work within the school’s Alternative Curriculum Provision and Reflection classroom to support some of our most vulnerable students.  Minimum requirements are GCSE English and Maths C Grade or equivalent.

Experience, of working with vulnerable students is an advantage, but most valued is the enthusiasm to support and motivate young people and the ability to act as a positive role model. As part of this role you will deal with challenging students, and would need to be strict on discipline, but demonstrate a firm but fair approach.  You would need support and motivate the students and help them develop the skills required for adult life. We are seeking candidates who will be a positive role model and have excellent listening, communication, organisational and literacy skills, and have the ability to communicate with students, parents and staff at all levels.
