LAT Apprenticeship, a successful and quality driven training provider, is seeking an experienced Apprenticeship Assessor/Coach to deliver Roofer and Property Maintenance Operative apprenticeships to a range of employed learners on apprenticeship standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing provision, so if you are an experienced roofer looking to put down the tools, please read on! 

The successful candidates focus will be to deliver the Roofer and Property Maintenance Operative apprenticeship standards (both Level 2 programmes), with the potential to deliver other construction related apprenticeship standards as demand is received from levy and non-levy paying employers. It is preferable but not essential that the successful candidate will be experienced in classroom and workshop training, developing and planning curriculums, site visits and managing portfolios, whilst offering effective advice and guidance to their learners. Our appointed candidate will be familiar or will need to become familiar with apprenticeship standards and the effective assessment methods required to support timely achievement. Teaching and assessor qualifications are preferred but not essential as for the right candidate, the achievement of these essential qualifications will be internally supported.

You will be delivering at The Apprenticeship Centre and The Halley Academy to individuals and groups, as well as making use of a range of technology such as Google and an online portfolio. The apprentices you will be teaching, coaching and assessing will learn about roofing - slate and tile, flat and cladding, along with developing knowledge and skills in repairs and maintenance e.g. plumbing, repairing a cistern or taps, electrical testing, maintaining HVAC, external fabric maintenance etc. ​​​​​​​

The is a permanent, part time opportunity offering an actual salary of £19,499 - £22,303 per annum (£32,065 - £36,675 full time equivalent), commensurate with experience based on 22.5 hours per week (8.00am - 4.30pm, 3 days per week), full year. Please be aware that we have a degree of flexibility with the working days but Wednesdays are essential, as well as being able to offer a full time contract for the right candidate. ​​​​​​​

Information about the trust

As of 1st September 2024, our Trust comprises 33 geographically organised academies (17 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 24,000 students and employing 4,000 talented staff. Currently, 16 of our academies are considered to be “Outstanding” which is 53% of those which have been inspected whilst part of the Trust. The Trust is establishing three ‘clusters’ of academies: LAT Central; LAT West; LAT North. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.
