We are looking for a qualified Teacher with a passion for working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs

The position involves being part of a dedicated and successful team who are committed to “making a difference” to children and young people with SEMH and learning difficulties.

Our Alternative Curriculum Provision based at Rowhill Special School, has an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to join our team.

Our Alternative Provision is committed to providing high quality teaching and learning support for children who have SEMH, learning difficulties and in many cases, have had significant previous absence from education.

We are looking for a teacher with experience of working with pupils who have SEMH and learning needs, however, a passion and resilience for working in this sector is more important. Our pupils are all KS4. The role will include supporting students in small groups and also on a 1:1 basis, as well as providing tutoring both on and off site. English and Maths would be a distinct advantage.

The ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues is essential. Our pupils are mostly SEMH and many have suffered significant absences from education.

Our staff work closely with pupils and families to create an ethos of care, respect and success. At Rowhill we feel strongly that our pupils are entitled to a broad, balanced, inclusive, relevant and learner-focused curriculum, which will develop young people to be lifelong independent learners.

In line with KCSIE 2022 guidance, as part of the shortlisting process, Rowhill reserves the right to conduct an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence and to share any pertinent information found concerning a candidate’s suitability to work with children with the Headteacher.
