We are looking for a Midday Meals Supervisor to work from 11:30am-14:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only). This is a temporary vacancy initally to August, with the possibility of extending further. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Washing utensils, plates and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately.
  • Having regards to quantity required for the number of children
  • To maintain a clean, hygienic and well-organised working environment in the kitchen
  • To maintain accurate and update records relevant to the kitchen – eg fridge temperatures
  • Having regard to individual dietary requirements ensuring that all children are provided with appropriate meals to meet their needs
  • To maintain high levels of communication with regard to all kitchen issues
  • To keep up-to-date with all food related issues which may affect the catering industry
  • To support the school’s commitment to safeguarding children in all aspects.
  • To liaise with other professionals as appropriate eg OFSTED and Environmental Health
  • To have a clear knowledge of and adhere to all health & safety regulations
  • To attend meetings as required and participate in training opportunities and performance development
  • To undertake any duties set to you by the management team that will assist in the day-to-day running of the school
  • Supervising children, alongside the school staff
  • Assisting and encouraging the children to eat their lunchtime meal,

Qualifications and Skills

In order to be considered for the role, you will need:

  • A passionate and positive attitude
  • Some catering expereince. 
  • A relevant Food and Hygiene qualification (desired but not essential as training can be provided)
  • First Aid training (again, desired but training can be provided).
