Advert

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work Monday to Friday 8-30 to 15-30pm, 32.5 hours a week, term time only.

As an expanding school, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual, to join our hard-working and fun-loving team. This is a great opportunity for someone to work in our successful and popular school, which is at the heart of an active rural community. In the first instance this would be a temporary position for the remainder of the current academic year working within our reception classes. However, as the school continues to grow a permanent position may be available.

The successful applicant will work alongside the class teacher and the SENCo, supporting the additional needs of the children - this may be in groups of children or 1:1 with individuals.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a passion to see every child fulfilling their potential
  • effective time management and an ability to work on their own initiative
  • good organisational skills, strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to and work as part of a team
  • a positive attitude and the ability to look on the bright side of things
  • will support the inclusive vision of the school
  • is committed to staff development.

It is desirable but not essential to have:

  • experience of working with children with additional educational needs
  • an awareness of autism

Personal visits to the school are warmly encouraged; please contact Mrs Karen Furmidge in the school office (01622 859261) to make an appointment or for more information.

Harrietsham Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Any appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and references.

Our Vision Statement:

‘Nurtured we Flourish’

We are a warm, welcoming and inclusive school rooted in our rural community. Like the mustard seed, we grew from tiny beginnings and our branches are now spread wide – providing support and taking our values beyond the school gates. All those in our community feel safe and nurtured - able to flourish and grow academically, spiritually, emotionally and physically to achieve their full God-given potential.

Harrietsham Church of England Primary School is a friendly village school set in beautiful countryside in the heart of the community. We are expanding to 2-form entry and are nearly fully grown! We pride ourselves on the achievements of all of our pupils - we are a school where everyone works together putting children at the heart of everything we do. We welcome pupils and staff of all faiths and none and our vision and values of Love, Forgiveness and Fellowship guide our everyday actions.

Our school building (which dates from 2004 to 2021 when our new extension opened) houses classrooms, smaller learning areas, a well-stocked library and computer room, activity rooms and offices and we have extensive grounds including a nature garden and field with large scale play equipment. Outdoor learning is really important to us. We have supportive parents and an active PTFA and Governing Body. We maintain close links with the church and local community.
