Job Description

Ripplevale School is looking for a professional, adaptable, friendly and hardworking School Secretary to join our new primary-aged provision in Broadstairs. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Senior Administrator and Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate must be reliable, be adept at managing competing priorities and work well under pressure. This role requires the ability to maintain confidentiality and be willing to take on a variety of tasks. They must be approachable and sensitive to the needs of all students, as well as a team player who takes an interest in the range of work undertaken by a highly successful school.

This post is based at our site in Broadstairs and is term time, plus 10 days in the holidays (as directed by the Senior Administrator). Hours of work 37.5 hours a week, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm (flexible start time can be discussed for the right candidate), plus 70 inset hours which presently includes 2 hours on a Tuesday early evening twilight session.  You will be working under the direction of the Senior Administrator and the SLT.

Information about the school

Ripplevale School is an independent day special school for pupils aged from 6 to 18 years old who have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) with a diagnosis of ASD, often with associated conditions.

Ripplevale School is situated over two sites. Ripplevale Lower School is situated in Broadstairs, teaching a Primary provision and Ripplevale Upper School is based in the village of Ripple near Deal, for our Secondary and Post 16 provision.

We have a committed and dedicated team which includes teachers, teaching assistants, higher level teaching assistants, a range of therapists, administrative staff and support staff. All play a significant role in the education and development of each pupil and work to create a warm, informal, friendly atmosphere in which the pupils feel secure, safe and confident.
