The Trust is seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer to work within our Trust Central Team to support the work of the Central Trust Strategic Leadership Team in promoting the positive welfare of children, young people and colleagues across the Trust.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year.  The salary is Kent Range 9, £30,485 to £34,693 full time equivalent, actual pro-rata salary £26,337 to £29,972.

As an experienced practitioner within The Central Trust Team, you will carry out the duties of a Safeguarding Officer on a daily basis, according to the needs of The Trust. Your role will include being accountable and responsible for the co-ordination, management and reporting of safeguarding training and safeguarding activity across the Trust.

This includes, but not exhaustive to:

  • Safeguarding Training - To be responsible for the tracking and monitoring of Trust wide Safeguarding training, reporting periodically to the Central Team in line with the annual cycle of reporting, and taking action as required
  • Safeguarding Policy and practice guidance - To be the single point of contact for Safeguarding policy updates in line with KCSIE, DFE and Local Authority changes. Taking action as required.  Ensuring that updates and changes are disseminated in line with Trust deadlines
  • To be responsible for the tracking and monitoring of LADO Referrals that hit threshold. Keeping, accurate and secure records of concerns and referrals made to LADO Trust wide, including LADO referrals (if threshold met) received from external agencies or safeguarding partners
  • DBS Disclosures - To be responsible for the tracking and monitoring for the Annual, all staff DBS disclosures.  Keeping, accurate and secure records around compliance to Trust wide deadlines.  Taking action as required
  • This post demands liaising with staff, advising, and supporting them as well as offering guidance

The role is open to any practitioner on the Support staff pay scale with experience. You must be flexible and open to last-minute changes.
