Spring Grove School is looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a minimum of Level 2 Early Years Childcare qualification. The afternoon session from 12.30pm to 3.30pm will be spent in the Nursery working with children from the age of 2-4 years under the supervision of the Head of Early Years. The afterschool care continues in the Nursery from 3.30pm to 6.15pm and Nursery children are then joined by children from the school. You will enjoy the company of children and engage with them providing a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable time.

For the After School Club the successful candidate will assist with the planning, leading and supervising of a range of activities to ensure our After-School Club is a popular and successful venture, providing our children with a high quality and stimulating environment. 

 

You will be working from 12.30pm to 6.15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only - term dates can be found here.

Key Responsibilities

  • To have a full working knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • To plan organised daily activities, within a given framework, appropriate to the different age groups, followed up with observations and record keeping 
  • To help create a happy and secure environment in which children can develop confidence and grow as individuals, with positive management of children’s behaviour
  • Ensure after school care runs smoothly in an organised and consistent manner
  • Deliver engaging and fun activities
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for children, staff and others, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high and safety procedures are implemented
  • Manage and maintain club ratios and registers of all children attending Creche/SG Extra
  • Ensure the process of registration of children attending is accurately adhered to
  • To actively support the children's social development, through appropriate activities and to provide support for other staff in these activities if required
  • Coordinate and help set up and clear away all equipment/activities before and after all the children arrive/leave
