Ightham Primary School is seeking to appoint a full time Teaching Assistant to work with a child in lower Key Stage 2. The post is term time only, Monday to Friday. Hours will be 8.45am to 3.30pm.

Your primary role will be to support a child who has diagnosed SEN. An understanding of ASD will be a distinct advantage for this post.

The post will be until 31st August in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal depending on successful application by the school of further High Needs Funding. The post is linked to the child attending Ightham Primary School.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • flexibility and commitment in their work with the children.
  • Experience (either voluntary or paid) of working in a primary school.
  • Some knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • An understanding of ASD.
  • Experience of working with pupils 1:1 and small groups.

We are a one form entry primary school with a supportive, dedicated and experienced teaching team. We have seven classrooms, an ICT Suite, library, hall with fixed apparatus, and designated gardening area. We are fortunate to be situated within the second largest woodland primary school setting in Kent and have three playgrounds.
