The John Wallis Academy are excited to be recruiting for a Cover Supervisor ‘with a difference’!

We are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor with the drive and ambition to share our passionate belief that every child and young person should have the opportunity to realise their full potential; to be encouraged to raise their aspirations; and to have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe, inspired and guided by the key Christian values of respect, truth, trust, integrity and love.

The Cover Supervisor role provides classroom supervision and supports students learning during teaching staff absence and entails the covering of lessons (work is usually provided) and supporting the pastoral and academic work of the pupils.

We are very interested to hear from graduates of all ages who would like to consider becoming a qualified Teacher but would like some hands-on experience first to help them decide if it is the right path for them.

You will come and work in our school as a Cover Supervisor.  Once you have passed the qualifying period and criteria, you will be supported in gaining your Qualified Teacher Status whilst being paid.  You will have the unrivalled support of our dedicated and experienced team.

If you didn’t want to take the QTS route but still feel you could offer our students your dedication and passion for education, we would be very interested to hear from you.  We are able to consider part- or full-time roles.

Skills and Experience -  To be considered for the position:

  • Hold a good honours degree or equivalent.
  • Hold a grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and English
  • Experience of working with children
  • Exceptional communication skills, timekeeping and reliability
