Who are we looking for?

We would like an enthusiastic, dedicated and ambitious team player to join us at the School of Science and Technology, Maidstone.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced senior leader to join an  oversubscribed school in the third year of its journey towards becoming another successful VIAT school. The school is at a stage whereby its growth requires additional strong leadership to join a developing Leadership Group. As a Trust, VIAT recognises the need to build capacity in order to drive standards in a new school, and to
reflect and adapt according to the changing context of our community and the world we live in.

School of Science and Technology Maidstone

School of Science and Technology Maidstone is a state-of-the-art secondary school, which opened in 2020, and offers a specialist curriculum for students with a flair for STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Maths subjects.

The school is proud to offer a broad and balanced curriculum and an excellent Personal Development Programme, which aims to develop well-rounded students who will work hard to make a difference to the world around them. There is an emphasis on
technology, a love of reading and the arts. There is a rich Extra-Curricular Programme which includes over 20 clubs and societies. The school environment is inclusive and caring, ensuring equal access and opportunities for learning for every student.

SST appoints staff who share the school’s vision and ethos, are specialists in their subjects, and are keen to collaborate.

Set within the main VIAT campus, based in Maidstone, the school has enviable indoor and outdoor facilities incorporating state-of-the-art design and technology suites with Apple devices, extensive music technology and performing arts areas, a purpose built Sports Hall and a comprehensive science block.

The school curriculum has been designed in conjunction with the School of Science and Technology in Singapore which is a close partner, and continues to provide a wonderful array of opportunities for both students and staff.

Information about the school

The Valley Invicta Academies Trust is a Multi Academy Trust, based in Maidstone, Kent. The Trust is a family of primary and secondary schools which work in partnership to provide nothing less than outstanding education for all our young people. Presently the Trust is responsible for five primary schools and three secondary schools:

VIAT Primary Schools

Valley Invicta Primary School at Aylesford, Valley Invicta Primary School at Holborough Lakes, Valley Invicta Primary School at Kings Hill, Valley Invicta Primary School at Leybourne Chase and Valley Invicta Primary School at Eastborough which has recently joined the Trust.

VIAT Secondary Schools

Invicta Grammar School, Valley Park School and The Lenham School. The Lenham School became a member of the Trust this year joining Invicta Grammar School, the highest performing “non super selective” school in Kent and Valley Park School, the highest performing non-selective school in Kent.
