HOURS: 29 Hours per week (38 weeks per year)

Schoolday hours - 8.45am-3:05pm

1:1 Teaching Assistant - Temporary post whilst funding is available for these children. 

We are looking to appoint three temporary AEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our SEN Team.  Each position is to support in a class where a child needs extra support with their learning, well-being, behaviour or medical needs. The contract would be for 29 hours a week (term time only) until the end of August 2023, in the first instance. Each contract would be linked to the enrollment of one particular child.

 The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have relevant qualifications or experience (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to study for it immediately).
  • Have particular experience of supporting children with significant SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of the Early Years and Key Stage 1 Curriculum.
  • Be able to differentiate when supporting learning.
  • Be a good team player who enjoys multi-agency liaison.
  • Be highly organised in record keeping - thoroughly maintaining & updating records.
  • Be flexible and prepared to use their initiative.
  • Be committed to their own professional development.
  • Be someone who enjoys working with young children and is fun to work with!
  • Be imaginative, creative and very energetic

Information about the school

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 300 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.
