Are you passionate about therapueutic SEND enducation? Do you want to make sure that all pupils reach their full potential and receive the very best opportunities and outcomes? If so we are looking to expand our team of dynamic, enthusiastic and hard working Teachers. We currently have a vacancy in one of our PMLD classes from January 2023 (or possible earlier start). 

 Five Acre Wood is a successful outward looking and expanding Special School based over 3 sites in and around Maidstone, Kent. We are one of the largest special schools in the country with over 700 pupils on roll aged 2-19 years with profound, severe and complex needs.  

To join our team you will need: 

  • To want to work therapeutically 
  • The ability to create a clear vision for the class 
  • The skills to develop the pupils to their full potential 
  • To be able to assess pupils knowledge and understanding scaffolding their next steps accurately 
  • To have high expectations of students and experience of raising achievement 
  • Understand the complexities of SEN pupils 
  • Have QTS to understand the learning of our pupils 
  • Passion for pupils with SEND

 You do not need prior experience of working with pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) but you must need a passion for working with our pupils and a willingness to learn.

We have a comprehensive induction programme for all staff, you will be assigned a buddy and a mentor. We have a very supportive leadership team. Culture is vital to us, it’s not only what we do but how we do it that matters to us, relationships across the whole school staff team are positive, inclusive and helpful.
