Marden Primary Academy has an exceptional opportunity for a committed, enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistant to join us as soon as possible. Becoming a member of the Marden Primary team will enable you to work with like-minded colleagues who share your goals and ambitions. You will be part of a team that provides outstanding educational opportunities for all of our pupils through creative, carefully sequenced and highly effective lines of inquiry where all learners are at the very core of driving our curriculum.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher to improve the provision for all children. Experience of working with children in schools is essential. There may be times when you're needed to cover the class in the teacher's absence so experience of this is advantageous.

The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience and/or qualifications in working with primary-aged children. We are also looking for proven high standards of both spoken and written English and Mathematics. Being able to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential, together with a friendly and approachable manner. Our newly appointed TA will be able to work using their own initiative and can demonstrate effective behaviour management skills. In return, they will join a supportive environment with plenty of development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Knowledge and experience of working within KS1
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Creativity and passion for learning
  • A thirst for knowledge, high expectations and the ability to inspire and motivate children.
  • Dedication to the job and the skills to prioritise the needs of the children in their care.
  • Resilience and the ability to be solution-focused

The role offers an actual salary of £15,102 (£20,789 full time equivalent) per annum based on 31 hours and 15 minutes hours per week, Term Time + 1 week of inset. The role will be centred around supporting children’s learning and development in all aspects of school life, not only in class but during social times too.

We strongly recommend that you come to visit our setting so that you can see in action what an inspiring and purposeful environment it is, for both pupils and adults.

Welcome to Marden Primary Academy, a thriving and growing community based school which is at the heart of the village community.

We pride ourselves on delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, enriched through our after school clubs and co-curricular activities which are made accessible to all. As an IB World School, our curriculum provision is enhanced further through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). It is an aspirational high quality inquiry-led learning framework, where the National Curriculum is delivered through in-context experiences. Through the PYP, children are encouraged to be risk-takers, life-long learners and global citizens.

At Marden, we believe that every child deserves the right to a nurturing and caring community, where children feel safe and inspired to learn. We have a shared vision that is ambitious and promotes high expectations for all. Collectively challenging ourselves and one another, showing both support and resilience to continuously improve and achieve, in learning and in life is part of our daily practice.

We are beneficiaries of having such supportive and caring parents and carers, who share our vision of delivering ambitious, inclusive outcomes for our children and are undoubtedly our most important partners in ensuring we achieve such a high quality of education. Also integral to our successes, is the drive and support of Leigh Academies Trust.
