We are looking to recruit a number of part and full time Learning Mentors to support in creating a learning environment that stimulates and encourages the best possible progress and the highest possible attainment for all pupils/students.

Positions are available across all of our sites and the salary is Kent Range 3 plus a Special Needs Allowance.  A full job description and person specification is attached.

Grange Park School is an autism specific provision for children aged 11 to 19 located in a purpose built school in Wrotham and for children aged 9-11 located in Stansted village 3 miles from the main school site. 

Currently judged as “good” by Ofsted, we are ambitious and are well placed to becoming outstanding. We are committed to providing our pupils with the best possible learning opportunities and supporting them in their development.

Grange Park is part of KSENT a collaboration of 24 special schools in Kent. This includes CLASS the Collaborative Learning Alliance.  This creates numerous training and development opportunities, shared working practices and career progression.  

The school offers comprehensive training in autism, exceptional CPD support and development opportunities through our Co-operative Trust of SEN schools.

The successful candidate will embrace the special ethos of the School, and the role will provide an opportunity to take Grange Park School into this next exciting phase and beyond.

Information about the school

Grange Park School is an autism specific provision for 8 – 19 year olds and has been accredited for over 9 years by the National Autistic Society (NAS), who highly commended our school. The school also achieved Advanced Status, which recognises the work we do as a school to support young people with a diagnosis of autism, in November 2020.

The Stansted Site opened in September 2019 following an extensive refurbishment modelled on the purpose built secondary site. The building is located in the pretty rural village of Stansted next to the village green.

Currently judged as “Good” by Ofsted, the school is very well placed to becoming Outstanding and is oversubscribed.

Class sizes at the Stansted and Wrotham sites are between 11-13 pupils with a teacher and 1-2 learning mentors.

At the Partnership colleges, Learning Mentors are supporting individual students or small groups of students aged 16-19 years in the college tutor groups / classrooms and out in the community.

The school offers comprehensive training in autism, exceptional CPD support and development opportunities through our Co-operative Trust of SEN schools.
