We are looking to appoint two Teaching Assistants who are enthusiastic and patient. The roles are predominantly working as 1:1 Teaching Assistants within the EYFS or Year 1 settings but some group work may be required.  The roles involve supporting children with physical, sensory and social communication needs. Experience of working with young children with a variety of special educational needs and knowledge when managing children with emotional regulation difficulties which can present as challenging behaviour would be advantageous.  

 

Whilst you will be expected to work under the direction of the class teacher you will also have the ability to use your own initiative to organise tasks and activities; creating simple resources to support the pupil’s work as appropriate. You will work closely with the class teachers and EYFS or Year 1 teams as well as the School’s local SEN support and the Trust SENCO as well as working in partnership with external contacts to support for learning and development.

Shears Green Infant School is part of the Hornchurch Academy Trust which is a group of six schools based in Rainham, Upminster and Northfleet within the London Borough of Havering and Kent.

We are a large Infant school nestled within Northfleet just off of the A2. We have lovely outdoor learning areas including our Reception play garden, our year 1 play garden and our large forest area.
