ASSISTANT HEAD OF QUEST COMMUNITY

NJC Scale SO1 Scale Points 23-28 pro rata to £26,131 - £30,364

Term Time plus 5 days in the holidays, 39 hours per week

This is a key non-teaching post in the school. The successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Community, co-ordinating a team of dedicated professional staff supporting all elements of student welfare, pastoral care, and behaviour.

This strategic role has responsibility for ensuring that all students in Quest Community are cared for and engaged in their learning. The role will also involve managing the Community form tutors, monitoring individual students’ progress, liaising with staff and parents/carers as well as rewarding success.

Applicants should have experience working with children. Some management experience is desirable but not essential. They should have the ability to inspire others, be decisive and ensure impact. A capacity for sustained hard work is vital.

Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre is a mixed 11 – 18 wide ability school with Academy status with 2000 students including 350 in the Sixth Form. We are part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust working in collaboration with local primary schools and nurseries serving the Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages. The school is situated on the edge of Tenterden and enjoys a large semi-rural site overlooking open countryside. Home Farm Nursery is based in the grounds of Homewood School.

Homewood has excellent facilities for all its students and our specialisms in Performing Arts, Applied Learning and the Rural Dimension underpin our approaches to learning which are designed to raise achievement across the whole student body. We aim to maintain and develop the cultural aspirations of the school community in line with our priorities of “belonging” and “respect” and offer a broad range of curriculum opportunities in all subject areas.
