Here at St Stephen’s Infant School, we are looking for a dynamic, experienced and committed individual to take on the exciting role as our School Business Manager.

This new role includes a broad range of responsibilities that will require an extensive set of skills, enthusiasm and resilience.  We want you to be excited to improve our school, enthusiastic and positive with a “can-do” approach.

 As SBM you will be responsible for managing the school’s finances, including day-to-day financial tasks, purchasing, budget setting and budget monitoring. You will also oversee the premises alongside the Site Manager, including all facilities matters, including health and safety.  You will also lead the administrative function of our school which is carried out by our lovely Donna in the school office.  You will advise on and implement the day-to-day support that enables the school to operate effectively and efficiently. This post requires adaptability, flexibility and an empathetic approach, as daily life in school can be fast-paced with frequent changes.

The SBM will be the line manager for the admin and site staff and suggest solutions where necessary to the School Leadership Team whilst organising your own workload, manage your time and priorities independently.  You will need drive to review and refresh systems making use of new and existing technologies to improve efficiency.

The SBM will work very closely with both our Headteacher and the CFO for the Trust forming key trusting relationships

The post will be 37 hours a week, term time only, plus two additional weeks to meet deadlines.  The post is graded at Kent Range 8, £26,598 - £30333, pro-rata - this equates to an actual salary of £22,591 - £25763.
