The role is full time, term-time only.

We are looking to appoint a Librarian / Learning mentor with the drive and ambition to share our passionate belief that every child and young person should have the opportunity to realise their full potential; to be encouraged to raise their aspirations; and to have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe, inspired and guided by the key Christian values of respect, truth, trust, integrity and love.

Responsibilities will include organising the Library’s resources to meet the needs of the curriculum, lending and cataloguing, including ordering books for departments and students, managing the Library budget, providing a library service during break, lunchtime and (on specified days) after school, enabling pupils to borrow and return books and develop good reading habits, and working with the English Department to support and run literacy and reading events and activities and promoting the Academy’s strong culture of reading.

The hours will vary day-to-day to meet the needs of the Academy eg. enabling pupils to access the library after school on some days. This flexibility will be discussed with the successful candidate.
