We wish to appoint a well-qualified, confident and enthusiastic teacher to join our hard working English department. The successful candidate will be expected to plan, prepare and teach lessons to a good standard up to CGSE level. We currently follow the AQA specification for both English language and English literature GCSE.

 

You will also need to possess the personal qualities’ and skills needed to teach successful lessons to students who have complex SEMH/ASD needs.

 

We would also like you to be a Form Tutor to a small group (up to 7), students.

Information about the school

All 80 students on roll have an EHC plan with SEMH or ASD as their main SEN need. Most have additional associated diagnosed and undiagnosed needs. All have a broadly average cognitive profile with behaviour presenting as the biggest barrier to accessing education.

It is essential that have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs associated with student who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and or Autism and experience of working successfully with other agencies to help these children achieve positive outcomes. A high proportion of our children are eligible for pupil premium.
