PE Cover Supervisor 

Required for September

Kent Range 5 currently £20,595.00 to £21,693.00 FTE (actual salary £14,426.36 - £15,195.49).

30 hours with possibility of additional hours to support with extracurricular activities for the right candidate.

Term time only 39 weeks per year (+5 training days)

Our school is increasingly becoming the first choice school for parents. As a result we are currently oversubscribed. This is an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic and highly motivated team, which includes Data, Exams and Cover.

The ideal candidate will be able to supervise whole classes during short term absence of teachers, ensuring learners continue to learn and make progress.

Essential requirements include:

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics (GCSE level 4 or above or equivalent)
  • Previous recent experience of working with children of secondary school age
  • Proven experience of teaching high quality PE lessons
  • Proven experience of high standards of practice
  • Ability to apply behaviour management policies and strategies which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
  • The ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure and have the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/situations.

Information about the school

A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 1000 pupils serving the historic market town of West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its own lake and extensive grounds. It was completely re-built in September 2007 and therefore has outstanding facilities.

West Malling is close to the county town of Maidstone and has excellent rail links to London and Ashford International (for the Continent).
