Are you looking for a new challenge in a supportive and welcoming environment? We’re looking for a qualified Teacher of English to work with our students across all key stages to develop their learning - ECTs are also welcomed.

Our energetic and highly-motivated English department are actively engaged in an integrated programme of reading, writing, speaking and listening, drama and media activities.  Assessment for learning, active learning and positive reinforcement are cornerstones of the department’s philosophy.

At Key Stages 3 and 4, students are generally taught in mixed-ability groups, although there is a single high-ability set in each of the timetabling bands.  Students requiring additional support are taught in supported classes.

At KS5 two A Level courses are taught: English Literature and English Language and Literature.  These courses are consistently amongst the most popular subject choices of sixth form students.  All courses follow AQA specifications.

In return, you will enjoy a unique working environment in the heart of the Weald of Kent, discounts and offers with Kent Rewards and ongoing training and support to help you excel and develop your career as a teacher.  Homewood School is part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust working in collaboration with local primary schools serving the beautiful Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages.  All teaching staff are provided with an IT device and there is also a nursery based on the school site which offers discounts to Homewood Staff.
