We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic and skilled administrator to join our outstanding organisation from September 2022, to fulfil the role of EHCP Co-ordinator. This post is for 30 hours per week, term-time only, Kent Range 5 (£20,595 to £21,693 FTE) pro-rata, depending on experience. Working days will be Monday to Friday and start and finish times will be confirmed on appointment.

The postholder is required to work term-time. In addition, the postholder will receive a payment in respect of their pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade, Bank Holidays and the KCC concessionary day. 

The successful candidate should possess GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), Grade C or above. They must be flexible in their approach to work, well organised, methodical, self-motivated and be able to prioritise their work effectively and efficiently in order to coordinate and execute EHCP statutory deadlines. They must be confident and possess good interpersonal qualities and strong communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships on all levels. This is a pivotal requirement for this post as they will be liaising with the Local Authority, Social Services, Senior Leadership Team, Teachers, Parents and Carers and other support staff that manage the annual review process. The candidate must be computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong excel skills and confident in using Microsoft Teams. Knowledge of SIMS.net and previous experience of working in a school environment would be advantageous, although not essential as training will be provided.  A flexible nature, meticulous attention to detail and a professional attitude is paramount, with a strong focus on understanding GDPR and the importance of confidentiality and discretion.

The main purpose of the role is to plan, prioritise and administrate the EHC plans and Annual Reviews for pupils and students to ensure that deadlines are fulfilled. They will also initiate proceedings for new pupil and student EHCP’s and amend the final EHCP’s for existing pupils and students.  They will also coordinate Child in Need meetings, liaising with outside agencies. They will also provide support to the wider administrative team and Leadership team as the need arises.

Experience of the EHCP process and working within an SEN setting are paramount to applying for this post.

Ifield School is a special school for children and young people with profound, severe, and complex needs. Almost half of all our pupils have a diagnosis of autism and speech and language difficulties whilst some have complex medical needs.
