We are looking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic, proactive and energetic Teaching Assistant to come and work at our wonderful school. We need an individual who has a passion for ensuring all children flourish and a desire to make a difference. You will enjoy working in a fast paced environment, love working within a supportive team and be confident to support children within the classroom and in groups or individually when needed.

If you want to work in a setting where all staff are given the opportunity to flourish and make a difference to young people and where growth is the focus for all members of the community and where there is opportunity to try different roles and bring your own unique ideas to children's lives, then you might just have found the perfect place to work. Our school is simply wonderful - extensive grounds, a thriving Forest School and pond area and we are really close to the beach. Who can ask for a better place to be? Check us out here: https://www.stmarysfolkestone.com/

We are a happy school with happy staff and wonderful children with the aim of ensuring everyone flourishes. If you are passionate about children, have a sense of humour and high expectations of yourself and others and a creative and curious mindset, then please come and see us.

The role will be for 30 hours per week, term time only and this is a fixed term contract with an immediate start. The end date will be 31st August 2023, but this will be reviewed nearer to the time and extended if funding is provided.

Information about the school

St Mary’s is a two‑form entry Church of England primary in the heart of coastal Folkestone, known for its warm welcome, high expectations and inclusive ethos. Set within extensive grounds - with Forest School, a pond area and well‑equipped EYFS outdoor learning spaces - our curriculum is rich, ambitious and alive with real experiences.

We invest in high‑quality adult–child interactions in EYFS and strong classroom practice across the school. Pupils benefit from a wide range of enrichment: specialist clubs in the arts and sport, swimming for all KS2, educational visits linked to topics, and a local sports partnership. Pastoral support is proactive and joined‑up, with close work between our Pastoral Lead, SENCo and external agencies.

We’re a Single Academy Trust that values collaboration, professional growth and honest, impact‑focused coaching - so every child, including those with SEND, can thrive.
