Five Acre Wood School is looking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher from January 2023.

The successful candidate will work with our senior leaders to support the continuing development of the school. 

The role will include:

  • General and specific duties as set out by the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions
  • Being part pf the Senior Leadership Team
  • To collaborate with members of the Senior Leadership Team in the leadership and management of the school
  • To undertake professional duty of the Principal which may be delegated, in accordance with the pay and conditions document
  • To provide total commitment to the safeguarding of pupils
  • To work with the SLT to develop a strategic view for the school in its community and analyse and plan for its future needs and further development within the local, national and international context .
  • Lead by example, provide inspiration and motivation, and embody for the pupils, staff, governors, parents and carers, the vision, purpose and leadership of the school
  • Take a leading role in the School Improvement and School Self Review processes
  • Take responsibility for leading and monitoring key task areas
  • Support, create and promote the ethos of the school

Five Acre Wood is a successful outward looking and expanding District Special School based over sites in and around Maidstone, Kent.

We currently have over 730 pupils on roll aged 2-19 years with profound, severe and complex needs, we are one of the largest special needs schools in the country. We have 420 employees.
